Money for sustainability - how to help us

"Committed to serving the community"

Services for which we need your help to continue

LifeLine Johannesburg has a proven track record in training lay counsellors and in understanding the immense value of operating a volunteer driven 'professional' counselling service. Therefore, because of the growing demand for crisis and support services in the community, we need to continue preparing counsellors to be available to fulfil this need. The growing demand for our services is indicated by the annual increase in our call and face-to-face rate. LifeLine trains an average of 64 trainees twice per year. Approximately 55/60 are able to make a contribution to the cost of the course, and LifeLine offers 100% subsidies to a maximum of 12 trainees from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.

Our strategy to ensure sustainability of commitment in service to the community

LifeLine Johannesburg has over 30 years history in counselling which is a testimony to our sustainability. Self generated income comes from:

  • Fundraising events such as the 1999 Ismael Lo concert and the annual "Last Night of the Proms" concerts generously supported by Nedbank.
  • Utilising our experience and professionalism in training to offer Life Skills training to corporate businesses, click here for more information.
  • Corporate Counselling and Trauma Debriefing contracts
  • Making our conference centre available to companies and NPO's
  • Development of sponsored projects to benefit the community we serve
